There were no real instructions but it was easy to put together. I use it as the gateway into my veggie garden and it serves the purpose nicely. The only trouble I had was putting all four legs into the ground straight enough to make the gates match up evenly. I failed after many attempts and so decided to make the pathway approaching slightly off-kilter and the herb pots on either side slightly out of line and the surrounding brickwork completely uneven. So, now it looks intentionally askew.

Although drain holes are drilled in sporadically, they are not located where needed. Consequently, water gets trapped inside after it rains. The paint has chipped off a corner or two and it is already starting to rust. The gates do not open all the way due to little burrs in the finish. There is no template to assist in placing the ground holes. A few bolts were missing but were supplied promptly. There should be a spike to drive the holes in the ground like the cheaper arches supply.

This arbor was received the day after I placed the order but the box was damaged when it arrived and it was leaking hardware. It didn't matter about the missing nuts and bolts because I ended up replacing all the hardware anyway. The screws that come with the arbor are too long. No need for half an inch of exposed screw sticking out over someone's head. Plan on budgeting another $10 for new hardware and spray paint.

Package came in with very poor condition and several of the parts were bent and damaged, despite all that we managed to fix the parts and set it up, and low and behold the door hinge were not matching up correctly, they either sent us the wrong parts or the door hinge / screw was about 5 inch too short to hold on to the door. It was a very disappointed first purchase.

We are using two of these arbor/gate combos at our entry walk and from the driveway. connected to a picket fence. They look great, and once the climbing vine roses take hold they should be great.
However, they are really flimsy--tubular metal and interlocking parts, rather than screwed together, so they look a whole lot better than they feel; also, assembly instructions have no measurements for spacing, so a lot of adjustments needed. Overall, they are barely worth what they cost, unfortunately.

Service and delivery comments:

As for Customer Service, when one of our items was damaged in shipment, in order to replace it they had to cancel the initial order and credit back the amount as a refund, then charge the account again for the replacements; however, as I guess I should have known, the credit takes 3-5 days to hit the account, while the charge for the replacement hits immediately; as such, I was out double the money with nothing to show for it, at least until the bank credits the account and the replacements arrive; not very customer-friendly! I understand the accounting part of this from Hayneedle's perspective, but since they had told FedEx to return the demaged item and therefore there would be no question of the item not coming back, in my opinion the replacement should have been given the same P.O. so that there would not be the bookkeeping convenience for them but financial inconvenience for the customer.
